We call out awful parking jobs all the time, but I don’t think I’ve seen the opposite. This Silverado was parked extremely well in my parking garage at work. Mirrors folded in and absolutely as close to the column as possible. I park my narrow Miata pretty darn close to the columns, but this driver took it to another level. My hat is off to you, sir/ma’am.
So, has a stranger’s parking skills ever impressed you? Share it with us!

I have had people tell me they didn’t think I would fit in certain spaces when I did (bragging).
I doubt the guy in this grey Audi was here last, but if he was...

This is why they call it the parking brake, right?

Exactly! Everything I know about driving I learned from Elwood.

We had a very narrow parking lot in my old apartment, and this neighbour had a green Peugeot 406 (the old, square-ish model). Funny thing is, we had to fold both mirrors to fit, use just the middle mirror, pray, and backup on the BLIND. So, we had to put the car exactly on the same spot in order to backup and park as fast as possible. I swear the concrete had tracks where we would steer every single day.
Over the years I got pretty good at this, just aiming at a mid section of his rear fender with my left mirror, folding it, and just go. Even my mom, which is the best driver of our family, got really impressed that I did that on a regular basis, to which I replied “If our neighbour ever trade his car or paint it of another color, I won’t get this right.” Well, lets just say he did trade his car to a red Citröen , and so both of us had to relearn our parking habits. I caught my neighbour, frantically steering away trying to park, just as I was picking my car up one day, and gave a hearty laugh, to what he just looked at me, and laughed too. I got closer to him and just asked “You had to get rid of that green Peugeot, didn’t you?”. He just smiled, nodded and waited for me to leave with my car before parking. And fold his mirrors on both sides. Eventually he bought a Harley Davidson, and would squeeze it behind my car to put on his side of the parking lot. The parking was narrow, but really deep to compensate (it doesn’t).
We never traded paint with each other, though. And I always left some room for him to maneuver his chromed Harley, parking a few inches short.
I was kinda getting used to enter the car through the passenger door and jump the transmission knob ever since. That was some really narrow parking spot, and nobody ever managed to park there after I left, with a car the same size. Luckily, he become neighbours with an Opel Corsa owner.

The column is only a few square feet, so it actually creates a door-opening buffer zone for both cars parked next to it!
